I Like This Blog

In my opinion, I like the ChicagoOlympic2016 blog. [http://chicagoolympic2016.blogspot.com/] The blog is well organized and creative. According to my class discussion about the 2016 Olympics, This blog would clarify all topics that we discuss in class.

Final Bid for the 2016 Olympics

We think the best chance of winning is Madrid because the city of Madrid has experiences the Olympic host. Madrid had already hosted nearly 600 international games and they were perfect done hosting the Olympic Games in the past.
To compare the candidate cities to serve as the Olympic host in 2016, honestly we think the city of Chicago is the best one which will win to be a host of the 2016 Olympic and also the city has the best proposal. Why we think Chicago is the best candidate? At this point of view, in Chicago area has many stadiums to serve different kinds of sports. The city of Chicago has many beautiful areas connect to the beaches and the beaches are well maintained. Also, the Olympic village which is located in the heart of the city and it has good infrastructure.
So far as we think Chicago is the best on their proposal but overall the city may not have a good chance to win. Otherwise, Madrid still has more chance.
Talking about the website of the candidate cities, we think the city of Tokyo could win the prize. The Tokyo website is more creative then other. It seems too childish but it represents itself. It’s Tokyo. It has their owned characteristic. The website is user–friendly. It’s easily to find information through the site. Likewise, Tokyo would be the winner to win the best logo for the Olympic 2016.

Olympic 2016 Candidate Cities

Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo are the Olympic 2016 candidate cities. In my opinion, the important points to decide which city will be the host for Olympic 2016 is listing below
· Venues
· Accommodation
· Transportation
· Olympic Village
· Environment, and
· Costs
According in my class discussion; the possible candidate city which will be the host would be Chicago. The city of Chicago is outstanding in the venues because the city of Chicago has more number of stadiums that is ready for the Olympic rather than Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. Chicago also has a good average weather condition when comparing with other three cities to be the city which is a host for the Summer Olympic Games 2016. Overall, my group’s opinion like Chicago to be the one who is the Olympic 2016 host because Chicago has a good transportation systems that can server many people who will visit the city. O’Hare International Airport is the busiest airport in the world now served passengers more than 75 millions and the airport would serve the passengers up to 100 million. At the point of view, we think Chicago is the most possible city of others to be ready to the Olympic host 2016.

Rio de Janeiro and Spain

Rio de Janeiro

Rio de janeiro is the capital city of Brazil. Rio de janeiro is marvelous city and it is dramatically set between rainforest and the sea, which is always with joyful existence. Rio de janeiro is one of the world's densest cities, as it never sleep and it is very rasy to get around in day or nigth. people over there always have time for the sensual pleasures of enjoying life and rhythm of samba, which is very famous.they have a famous carnival festival every year and every one enjoy there dancing on the tunes of samba, for this festival they get rehersals in the samba school all year long. Its like you can experience the festival of Songs, colours and joy around you. when we talk about the beaches there are two world's most famous beaches named as Ipanema and Copacabana.

Rio de Janeiro considers itself the art and cultural center of the continent.Away from the beachers and intense night life you will find much art but contemporary artists in galleries and museums, excellent shopping complex,Hotels in all price ranges and a huge variety of restuarants.

Spain

Madrid is the capital of Spain. Portugal and France are next to Spain. Barcelona, Zaragoza and Espana are famous cities in Spain. Spanish is the official language. Football and motorcycling are the well-known sport in Spain. Flamenco is the famous composer who made Spanish music (folk music) well-known to people around the world. In Spain, most restaurant open in the afternoon for lunch. When visiting Spain lunch time start from 1 pm. Therefore, the dinner is in the late night. People in Spain usually have dinner around 9 pm and the dinner can be late to after midnight. The traditional famous Spanish cuisine is Paella. The paella is made from rice, seafood, and snails. This special dish takes more than half hour to cook it. I wonder how delicious of the dish except for the snails. I don’t think that I can have them in my mouth. The famous dessert in Spain is called Churros. The churros are like the bread stick dipping with the thick hot chocolate. For this dessert, I wonder these are yummy. I like to taste it when I am in Spain. I wish I would visit Spain once in the future.

North Avenue Beach for Olympic Volleyball

North Avenue beach is the best place for volley ball its just because It is a fairly large, well-maintained beach with rentals available, including chairs, bikes and volleyball equipment (there are 50 or more volleyball courts). You'll see many runners, cyclists and inline skaters on the lake shore path, as well as an outdoor mini fitness center and roller hockey rink. Probably the greatest attraction at North Avenue Beach is people-watchingFabulous view of Gold Coast's skyscrapers. Now if you are talking about transportation it is very Easily accessible by 72 Bus. 10 minutes tops from Sedgewick.Over-all North Avenue beach is suitable for Olympic volley ball.

North Avenue Beach and Olympic Volleyball Competition

Is North Avenue Beach a good spot for the Olympic volleyball competition?

North Avenue Beach is a good spot for the beach volleyball, but not for the Olympic volleyball competition. I think the beach is not a good spot for the big game because the North Avenue Beach does not have much space to fit many people. My BIR class went to the beach last week (07/26/09); there were many people on the beach. I felt like the place was too crowded; even I could see more people on the North Avenue Beach before. I can imagine, if the beach is the location for Olympic volleyball competition, the beach will need to have more space. In the summer, the weather was very nice and sunny, but in Chicago I can imagine that the great weather condition can be windy as the city named of the Windy City. At this point, I don’t think the beach would be the good location for the Olympic volleyball competition. For the transportation, I think the Chicago Transportation Authority (CTA) would do a good service for everyone to get to the beach, but if for the Olympics, there will be more people coming to see the game, I don’t think the CTA will be able to provide enough route buses for everybody. Through these I think CTA needs to have plans for support.

Olympic 2016 in Tokyo

Is Tokyo ready for the Olympic 2016?
In my opinion, Tokyo is an excellent candidate for the Olympics 2016. Tokyo has a great experience as the host of the Olympics 1964. It seems like long term experience from the pass, but from that Tokyo could be the great place for the 2016 games.
There are many reasons that Tokyo would be the Olympics 2016 host city.
1. Tokyo has excellent transportation systems.
2. Security is the most concern for the city of Tokyo.
3. In Tokyo, everyone can stay connected everybody around the world.

Hopes Of Chicago People

If you are talking about the people of Chicago they really love sports a lot and that is why Chicago has lots of parks and all parks are under 15 km of range from the city, so it will be very easy for people who ever come to Chicago to take part in every game. When we are talking about the public transportation of Chicago, it’s very good and they are trying to make it more accessible. Chicago is the place you can find people from all around the globe and everyone cooperates very well.
If we are looking for the benefits of the Olympics in Chicago:-

** The 2016 Olympic and Paralympics’ Games will grow Chicago's economy, create hundreds of thousands of jobs and generate billions in new economic activity.
** The Games will leave a lasting legacy of improved neighborhood quality of life
** The Games will benefit all Chicagoans for generations to come from new, permanent assets like new parks.

''The 2016 Olympic and Paralympics Games would be such a moment for Chicago. It would ensure that Chicago remains a vibrant, creative and growing place where our children and future generations can have a good life”, as it was said by Mayor Richard M Daley.

Why Chicago would not make a good Olympics host city?

Great Lake City likes Chicago; it doesn't mean the city is a great place for an extraordinary event likes Olympics.

In my opinion, the City of Chicago is not ready to be a host for Olympics 2016. Many things that I think Chicago needs to change or to solve the problems. For example, the Chicago Transportation Systems and Safety and Security.

The Chicago Transportation Systems:

  • Chicago needs to improve all transprotion sevices around the city --- buses, trains, or boats.
  • Transportations should access to every areas in the city or the places nearyby.
  • Transportations should be clean and low cost.
  • Chicago needs to have more transportations to serve disabilities.
  • All avenues, roads, or streets in Chicago and places nearby the city needs to be fixed and developed its owned structures for more people usage.

Safety and Security

  • The City of Chicago needs to have more potential security systems.
  • The city needs to solve the street gangs in all Chicago areas.
  • Homeless in Chicago might be a part of scared people in the city.
